The selection of medications is one of the most important activities in pharmaceutical care. One of the technical criteria to be considered is:

(a)

Include as many medications as possible.

(b)

Preferably choose substances with more than one active ingredient.

(c)

Choose medications with more favorable pharmacokinetic properties, allowing greater convenience in administration and resulting in better treatment adherence.

(d)

Standardize medications exclusively by the name of the active ingredient, according to the Brazilian Common Denomination (DCB).
