A teacher in a public school plans a reading lesson using an English-language public health campaign. Before reading, students discuss what they already know about the topic, identify features of the genre and predict the purpose of the text. During reading, they verify their predictions and examine how verbal and visual information work together.
Considering the principles that guide foreign-language teaching in the PCNs, the proposed lesson:
